From Steve Shafer, pastor, Flint/Saginaw/Wolverine, Michigan:

Our beloved Maggie Thomas died peacefully at 6:30 AM on Sunday morning, March 7th, after a long battle with pancreatic cancer.  She was 71.  Maggie has been a faithful member of God's Church for over 20 years and she died knowing her future in God's Kingdom is assured.  She remained spiritually strong and focused to the very end.  She was extremely thankful and encouraged by the many cards and notes of encouragement she received from around the world.  Your prayers and the outpouring of your love overwhelmed her.  According to her wishes, a Memorial Service will be held for her at our Church Building in Flint, after Sabbath Services, on March 20th.

From Steve Shafer, pastor, Flint/Saginaw/Wolverine, Michigan:

Maggie's pancreatic cancer has now progressed into its' final stages.  She decided some time back to forego any further treatments of any kind and to leave matters completely in God's Hands.  The pain has increased to where she now has to take prescription pain medication.  She can no longer attend services or live on her own.  She has now moved in with another church family who are helping to care for her needs.  She has maintained a very positive attitude and continues to exhibit total faith in God, whatever the outcome.  She greatly needs and appreciates everyone's prayers, letters and outpouring of love.  Her only hope now appears to be in God's miraculous intervention on her behalf, which we are all still hoping and praying for.

From Steve Shafer, pastor, Flint/Saginaw/Wolverine, Michigan:

One of our longtime Flint members, Maggie Thomas (age 71), is requesting our prayers. Maggie has been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. She also has a spot on her liver. She has begun a mild form of chemotherapy treatment, which helps to control the pain at this point. She was diagnosed with this about three or four years ago, but it went into recession. Now it has returned. She knows her life is entirely in God's hands. She would greatly appreciate our prayers for God's healing and intervention.
